National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Bhaskar Pharmacy College was sanctioned in the year 2022 by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad with the objective of promoting social responsibility, community engagement, leadership qualities, and holistic development among students. The NSS activities of the institution are coordinated under the guidance of Mr. Zain Ul Bashar Khan, NSS Coordinator, who received a Certificate of Appreciation from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad during the NSS Day Celebrations – 2022 for his active coordination and contribution towards NSS initiatives.

Bhaskar Pharmacy College has also received appreciations and recognitions from organizations such as the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad, Ministry of AYUSH, Telangana State Council of Higher Education, and the State Blood Transfusion Council for its active involvement in social responsibility and community service activities.

The institution consistently organizes and participates in various NSS and outreach activities including health camps, blood donation drives, voter awareness programmes, cancer awareness initiatives, anti-drug abuse campaigns, yoga and wellness programmes, environmental and social awareness rallies, and community healthcare services. National observances and celebrations such as Independence Day, Republic Day, National Pharmacy Week, National Pharmacovigilance Week, World Health Day, and other cultural and social awareness programmes further contribute to creating a vibrant, socially conscious, and service-oriented campus environment.

Major NSS Activities

  • Participation in health awareness programmes, health week initiatives, and wellness campaigns in association with government and healthcare organizations.
  • Organization of awareness rallies and anti-drug abuse campaigns focusing on medicine safety, public health, and social responsibility.
  • Conduct of Essay Writing, Elocution, Debate, and awareness programmes on themes related to healthcare, drug abuse prevention, and social issues.
  • Celebration of World Health Day with activities including free health check-ups, yoga sessions, marathon events, fitness challenges, diet awareness programmes, and wellness activities.
  • Organization and participation in Blood Donation Camps and community healthcare initiatives in collaboration with hospitals and healthcare organizations.
  • Participation in cancer awareness programmes, Pinkathon Marathon, Breastfeeding Week activities, and Cancer Prevention Pledge campaigns.
  • Conduct of free medical camps, outreach programmes, and rural health awareness activities under community service initiatives.
  • Participation in village outreach programmes involving public health awareness, demographic surveys, malaria prevention campaigns, and distribution of healthcare materials.
  • Organization of Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid Training Programmes in association with healthcare foundations and hospital partners.
  • Celebration of National Pharmacy Week, National Pharmacovigilance Week, World Pharmacists Day, and World ORS Day with active participation from students and faculty.
  • Celebration of Independence Day, Republic Day, National Voters’ Day, Samvidhan Divas, International Women’s Day, and other national and social awareness programmes.
  • Participation in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) awareness programmes, Unity Marches, Meditation and Ahimsa Runs, and various youth development initiatives.
  • Organization of personality development, motivational, and women empowerment programmes for students.
  • Participation in educational visits, workshops, admissions fairs, scientific events, and interactive sessions conducted by academic and professional organizations.
  • Active involvement of NSS volunteers in university-level NSS coordination programmes and various social responsibility initiatives conducted in collaboration with government and non-government organizations.
